This year we decided to scale WAY back on what we try to do for Christmas. I read THIS blog post a few weeks ago that talked about putting Christ back in Christmas. The Hatmaker family follow this little rhyme to guide them in what to give their children on Christmas:
Something you want
Something you need
Something to wear and
Something to read.
We love the guideline this gives us! It's brilliant and helped us to keep things simple.
Tonight, our kids got their "something to wear." It's clothes for Christmas Sunday. (Look for pictures tomorrow!) They will also be getting pj's on Christmas Eve, but I didn't count those because that's long standing tradition. :-)
As you can see, they are SUPER EXCITED about their first gift and can't hardly wait for Christmas day!
